Job Title: Technical Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Officer to join our Engineering Services team at Shoalhaven City Council.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a technical professional to utilize their skills and experience in the engineering field and develop a broad skill set in a rapidly expanding Council environment.

You will be a member of the Engineering Services team and reporting to the Design & Investigations Coordinator. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing and administering Councils Consent to work within the road reserve process.
  • Administering Council's Public Lighting responsibilities including reporting public lighting faults, procuring non-standard street lighting components and organising new light installs for Council's capital works program.
  • Processing and administering Councils Build over Easement process.
  • Scheduling and conducting Variation to Crossover inspections to meet Council policies and procedures.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Post-secondary qualifications with some relevant technical experience in an engineering environment.
  • Computer literacy in the use of Microsoft Office products and GIS software.
  • Understanding of the principles of engineering design, construction and maintenance techniques in relation to roads and drainage assets in a local government environment.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
