About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager - Manufacturing to lead our manufacturing operations across Australia. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving profitability across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operational efficiency of manufacturing sites across Australia
  • Recruit, direct, and develop senior site management teams
  • Ensure peak operational efficiency while maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards
  • Collaborate with Site Managers to develop and implement best manufacturing practices
  • Manage plant hygiene, maintenance, and environmental compliance at all sites
  • Lead and guide the Manufacturing staff, fostering a positive and proactive team culture
  • Work closely with sales, technical, and SHEQ teams to develop new products and improve processes
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant state and local regulations, including OH&S and environmental laws
  • Implement and monitor cost controls and production efficiency against budget and forecast
  • Lead capital expenditure projects, including evaluating and implementing proposals
  • Develop and maintain inventory control systems and procurement protocols
  • Provide detailed monthly reports to the Group CEO on financial performance, site activities, and compliance issues
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need a tertiary degree in agriculture, business, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of senior management experience in the stock feed, food, or agricultural manufacturing industries. A deep understanding of nutrition and product knowledge within the stock feed and agriculture sector is also essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Strong experience in people management and team development
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 or SAP
  • Proven track record in leading manufacturing teams with a focus on process implementation and maintenance
  • Exceptional commercial acumen and a strategic mindset
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and practices, including OH&S, with a commitment to leading by example
  • Hands-on management style, with the ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic, multi-site environment
  • Experience managing multi-site operations with a focus on compliance, including Feed Safe accreditation
