We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our Engineering Services Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design and management of road and drainage assets using computer design software.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Civil Design Team Leader in the program management of Council's engineering design projects.
- Prepare computer-generated design plans for Council's capital works program, including road construction, drainage, traffic treatments, parking, footpaths, and parks.
- Check engineering designs provided by consultants, design engineers, graduate engineers, and student engineers to ensure compliance with Council policy, engineering standards, and codes of practice.
- Manage consultants engaged to undertake civil design projects, including procurement, evaluation, and contract administration in accordance with Council's Procurement Policy.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering with several years of relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
- Registered Civil Engineer in Victoria or all necessary qualifications and experience to obtain registered status.
- Extensive design experience relating to small and large civil engineering projects, including roads and drainage design using computer design software.
