We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Equipment Technician to join our team in the PACT Group Contract Manufacturing Division. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading company in the packaging industry, pioneering sustainable packaging solutions for global brands and local dairy producers.

About the Role:
As an Industrial Equipment Technician, you will play a lead role in all day-to-day operations, including coaching and mentoring of maintenance technicians and line setters, supervision of external contractors, preventative maintenance on machines and equipment, and responding to emergency machine break downs throughout the plant. You will also be involved in new design, installation, and movements of existing machines, as well as overhaul and repair of machines and equipment. Ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently, and fit for purpose is a key responsibility of this role.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Be To:
  • Adhere to APMs safety obligations in accordance with OH&S legislation.
  • Improve and modify machinery to improve productivity and quality of product.
  • Design, promote, and carry out preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose.
  • Install new machines and equipment.
  • Overhaul and upkeep and repair of all plant machines.
  • Review and advise on engineering requirements and drawings.
  • Actively promote safe working practices.
  • Work with and coordinate contractors.
  • Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and predetermined specifications.
  • Fault finding, testing, and removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures, and parts.
  • Determine the cause of faults and undertake the most cost-effective solution to remedy the defect.
  • Effective communication – keeping management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when required.
  • Train and assess line setters and maintenance technicians.
  • Set up the capper machine when required.
