About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding position, where you will work with young people who have experienced trauma.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming home environment
  • Encourage young people to develop their social and living skills

A Typical Day
  • Building and developing independent living skills
  • Assisting with household duties
  • Encouraging achievement of goals
  • Transporting young people to and from appointments
  • Daily care and support
  • Supporting connection to family & culture

Requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability
  • Qualifications in Residential Care or related areas
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver services based on an understanding of trauma
  • Positive attitude to engaging with children and young people in a nurturing environment
