Clinical Lead in Stroke Care

This is a statewide position that involves providing expert clinical advice and consultancy to referring sites and leading practice development initiatives across NSW.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the TSS host site team, Prince of Wales Hospital Stroke Department, referring site clinicians and the NSW Telestroke Working Group to standardize and integrate stroke care across the NSW Telestroke network.
  • Initiate and lead practice development across NSW by providing a range of services and working in partnership with the TSS host site team, referring site teams and the NSW Telestroke Working Group.
  • Oversee clinical supervision of referring site stroke coordinators and support care management plan development and implementation for patients with complex health needs.
  • Support embedding of telehealth technology from a clinical perspective and lead the embedding of the Telestroke Model of Care across the state.
  • Promote advancement of clinical practice and initiate collaborative ventures with academic colleagues to influence nursing practice in stroke and telestroke.
  • Play a key role in evaluating the NSW Telestroke Service, coordinating case reviews and clinical follow-up to assess patient outcomes.

The role requires mobilization to travel to up to 22 TSS referring sites across NSW as required. You will work closely with a dynamic team focused on standardizing practice, improving patient outcomes and contributing to the statewide Telestroke initiative.
