About us
We are a contemporary healthcare facility located in Sydney, providing a wide range of health services to the local community.
We have 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.
About the Role
As a CNC/CNS, you will contribute to quality healthcare by collaborating with our multidisciplinary team and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes.
You will be an expert practitioner who, through leadership, facilitates research based clinical practice, which is creative, visionary and relevant to our in-patient service.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of stroke pathways and care
- Participating in strategic and operational planning of stroke services across the hospital
- Providing education and support to our TIA clinic
- Promoting stroke nursing, fostering excellence through clinical, educational, research and professional relationships
- Contributing to quality healthcare through collaborative stroke management
- Collaborating with our Emergency Department to ensure timely access to stroke management of all stroke presentations
- Formulating and implementing policy, guiding practice development and engaging in education and research activities
- Providing hospital-wide consultancy, promoting evidence-based care within a collaborative multidisciplinary team
- Providing advanced clinical support to develop, facilitate, implement and evaluate care plans to meet the needs of patients related to the management of stroke admissions
Requirements
To succeed, applicants must have:
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent qualification
- A postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty field at degree level or higher (or equivalent)
- At least 5 years' full-time post-registration experience & at least 3 years' experience in the neurology and stroke field
- Previous experience as a CNC/CNS or acting in similar roles
