About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Program Manager to join our team at NSW Government. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in leading and managing multiple cyber security strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage cyber security projects, coordinate incident response and recovery efforts, and evaluate new security technologies.
  • Ensure that NSW Treasury adheres to cyber security and operational standards while continuously improving cyber security processes in an evolving threat environment.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns regarding cyber security, provide advisory services on best practices and emerging threats, and facilitate effective communication and collaboration between different departments and external partners.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT and Cyber Security or an appropriate discipline and/or equivalent significant relevant industry experience.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex programs in cyber security or IT, with a strong emphasis on developing and executing strategic plans that align with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Deep understanding of cyber security fundamentals, including threat modelling, risk management, incident response, and secure coding practices. Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, CIS, NIST, ISM, Essential Eight, Mitre, COBIT, and ITIL.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various cyber security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM, endpoint protection, and identity and access management systems.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid models, along with expertise in using project management tools such as MS Project and JIRA.
  • Proven ability to lead cyber security engagements, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams. Experienced in managing relationships with executives, vendors, and regulatory bodies, with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
