Job Title: Casual Thrift Shop Assistant Manager

About the Role:

This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a highly organized individual to assist in leading and developing our store to maximize profits and strengthen links between thrift shops, community support services, wider community, and corps.

The role involves:

  • Receiving, sorting, pricing, and hanging of saleable goods as well as disposal of non-saleable items
  • Implementing stock rotation and management processes to ensure optimal store stock levels are maintained
  • Delivering exceptional customer service experience
  • Oversight of store operation on Saturdays, including opening and closing, leading volunteers, and ensuring a great shopping environment
  • Supervising volunteers and attending to rostering when manager is on leave
  • Filling in as acting manager when store manager is on leave
  • Being willing to learn all aspects of running a thrift shop
  • Assisting with financial processes, including daily cash reconciliation, preparation of cash floats, and banking
  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of all store finance/sales records and submitting to authorized persons for processing
  • Leading a safe workplace through ongoing promotion of work health and safety standards
  • Maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of store and facilities

This is a casual position located in Melbourne. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Industry Award Level 4.
