Financial Reconciliation Operations Leader

This is a 12-month maximum term position in our Finance Operations team, responsible for leading Core Banking Finance reconciliations and contributing to standardising Group processes for seamless reconciliations while ensuring compliance with financial obligations and controls.
You will be accountable for managing reconciliations across General Ledger and suspense accounts, Group payment clearing streams, BOQ branch operations, and various workstreams across multiple brands. Additionally, you will support relevant business units in aged exception item management.
As a leader, you will manage a team of approximately 13 Reconciliations officers across two locations (Brisbane and Melbourne) to deliver business objectives.
The Group's transformation journey requires your subject matter expertise in designing and implementing new reconciliations systems and processes, as well as contributing holistically to the wider ERP implementation.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
About YouWe are seeking an experienced Financial Reconciliation Operations Leader with strong leadership skills and a background in reconciliations, including previous managerial experience within core banking reconciliations functions.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial services, demonstrating the ability to manage high transaction volumes in a fast-paced environment.
You will be skilled at overseeing routine operations while effectively navigating change management processes. Experience with system implementation and familiarity with accounting packages and ERPs like SAP, Workday, and Oracle are highly preferred, along with medium proficiency in Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, requiring engagement with both internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to influence and collaborate across all organisational levels is crucial. Meeting deadlines and showcasing a passion for continuous improvement, with a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, are also key requirements.
