Newstead, Queensland, Australia Bank of Queensland Full time

About the Role

At Bank of Queensland, we're committed to mitigating Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) risks. As a Financial Crime Investigator, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our compliance with AML/CTF regulations and Group policies.

You'll be responsible for supporting the assessment and investigation of alerts from our detection systems, identifying unusual patterns or behaviours. Your work will involve transaction monitoring for complex investigations, providing structured analysis, and supporting decision-making with timely intelligence reporting to AUSTRAC.

In this role, you'll also perform a 4-eye check on recommendations for off-boarding customers posing ML/TF risks. You'll collaborate with the AML Ops Reporting Team Leader to develop training materials for AML Investigation Analysts, driving a culture of empowerment, making risk-based decisions, and holding the team accountable to performance expectations.

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll have proven experience in FCP roles, particularly in investigations, transaction monitoring, sanctions, or customer screening roles with AML/CTF obligations. You should have knowledge of financial crime processes, customer or payment screening, and AML/CTF rules, as well as being well-versed in SMRs.

Familiarity with ML/TF typologies, indicators, and red flags, as well as sanctions screening and compliance requirements, is essential. This is a great opportunity for an experienced AML Investigations Analyst looking for the next challenge in their career.
