About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Signalling Senior Project Manager to expand our railway signalling capability in our Rail Division. Based in Seven Hills, NSW, you will work as part of a multi-skilled team on various rail projects within NSW and Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership
  • Support the Project Lead in managing client expectations by establishing a project brief, understanding development drivers, and creating a cost plan to meet agreed budgets and risks.
  • Design and Procurement
  • Develop a design procurement strategy with the Project Lead and Project Engineer to ensure consultants understand project drivers and respond accordingly.
  • Cost Planning and Management
  • Engage cost planners to develop an overall cost plan and work with them to develop the design in accordance with the project budget.
  • Conversion Program
  • Support the Project Lead in developing an overall conversion program, including project issues related to revenue, clients, authorities, design, procurement, and delivery.
  • Risk Management
  • Identify and understand key risks and opportunities in all aspects of the project to optimize Laing O'Rourke's position.
  • Quality and Reporting
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with client quality requirements and Australian standards/codes.

About You

  • Experience
  • Exposure to managing teams for the delivery phase of construction projects.
  • Experience managing signalling and communication construction projects and managing contractors.
  • Education
  • Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Skills
  • Understanding of design, problem-solving capabilities, and commercial acumen.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Rail Signalling preferred.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels - Directors to operatives.
