Gene Therapy Research Position">

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team in the Gene Therapy Research Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for advancing medical research and improving the health of children.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to the development of novel gene therapy strategies for the treatment of genetic diseases affecting infants and children.

The work will involve a wide range of molecular biology and tissue culture tools and techniques, including maintenance and manipulation of mammalian cell lines, performing basic molecular biology QA/QC assays, and transfection.

In addition, the position involves undertaking routine tasks related to the maintenance of the laboratory and preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of molecular biology principles and techniques, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preference will be given to applicants with prior hands-on experience working with viral vectors and animal procedures such as injections and blood collection.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry)
  • Excellent technical skills in molecular biology and tissue culture
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology principles and techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
