About the Opportunity

Griffith City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Supervisor - Facilities to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration, general operational activities, and housing operations of the Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and overseeing administrative functions across the Facilities Operations team, and in support of Council functions across the region;
  • Managing the community housing operations across the region;
  • Managing the operations of the Council's facilities, including the coordination of maintenance and repairs;
  • Overseeing the Council's swimming pool operations, working with contracted external providers;
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations;
  • Providing leadership and guidance to team members, and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment;
  • Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to achieve Council goals and objectives;
  • Managing budgets and resources to ensure effective use of Council funds;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and Council policies;
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to community inquiries and concerns.

Requirements:

  • A qualification in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience;
  • High level interpersonal skills, including exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to influence, negotiate, and effectively manage conflict;
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams, developing talent, and coaching for individual performance improvement;
  • Proven experience in rental management or similar regulatory lead commitments;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication;
  • High level of integrity, with a strong commitment to ethical behavior and confidentiality;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
