About the Role

Safran Electronics & Defense Australasia Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense, requires an experienced Logistics Network Director to manage all aspects of its supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing procurement, purchasing, inventory control, distribution, and export controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitor local supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain key business relationships with suppliers.
  • Oversee logistics and supply support plans.
  • Ensure compliance with US export regulations (ITAR and EAR).
  • Manage export controls permit register and applications.
  • Assist in developing Australian Industry Capability plans and reporting.
  • Perform general periodic supply chain audits and analysis.
  • Lead departmental personnel management, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business management or a related field.
  • A minimum 5 years' experience in supply chain management.
  • Sound working knowledge of export controls.
  • Skills and experience working with ERP systems.
  • Experience in processes under Quality Standards AS/NZS9001, AS/NZS9110, and AS/NZS14001 framework.
  • Ability to comprehend legal documents.

Personal Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Department of Defence security clearance and a Foreign Worker Authorisation.
  • Established good working relationships with ADF organisations or local industries.
  • Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and rigorous.
  • Interest in advanced technologies.
  • Strong work ethic.

Salary

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
