Economic Policy Analyst
Economic policy analysis is a high-priority field where you can contribute to shaping the future of money. In this role, you will be part of the Analysis and Policy team responsible for cash policy issues.
The Team
This team focuses on designing solutions that ensure Australians who want to use cash have access to it at reasonable cost.
The Role
You will be working on developing policy options to safeguard the future of cash. This involves preparing policy advice for senior executives and decision-makers across Australia's financial regulatory agencies.
Your work will involve contributing to research and analysis, often collaboratively with other areas of the Bank, such as Economic Research, Payments Policy and Financial Stability Departments.
You will also represent the department in key internal and external stakeholder relationships, including with other Government agencies, foreign central banks, and industry stakeholders.
About You
- We are looking for applicants who want to use their analytical skills to shape real-world economic policy outcomes.
- Applicants should have prior experience in policy analysis, microeconomics, research and evaluation, or regulatory implementation and design.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
Please include a CV in your application. Instead of a cover letter, submit answers to the following two questions in a single document:
- Describe a time when your analysis influenced a decision or policy outcome.
- What is a current or proposed economic policy you disagree with and why?
Benefits
This role offers opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as the chance to work on high-impact projects that shape the economy.
Our team values diversity and inclusion, and we welcome applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
A relevant tertiary qualification, such as in economics, finance, public policy or statistics, is required.
The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and in an organized manner, with support from their management team.
