Job Description:

The role of Assistant Director – Economics and Insights involves leading small teams to deliver economic research and analysis in support of evidence-based decision-making on complex economic and pricing policy.

This includes:

  • Collaborating with like-minded individuals to address challenges in the care economy and human services markets
  • Engaging in theoretical and practical policy considerations regarding the current and future states of NDIS supports markets
  • Applying statistical and economic modelling and research methods to understand NDIS market functioning and propose improvements
  • Addressing information asymmetries and market failures through pilot studies that fill information gaps and test new solutions
  • Working effectively across teams and departments, and in collaboration with experts and academics, to build a shared understanding
  • Making major impacts on the allocation of Scheme resources that are projected to grow

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies for economic research and analysis to inform policy decisions.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality economic insights and analysis.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
