Field Service Technician Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Field Service Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for providing repair and maintenance services for Hach Process and Laboratory Analytical equipment across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality repair and preventative maintenance services for all Hach equipment using established ISO work instructions.
  • Work collaboratively with service teams and field sales staff to promote customer satisfaction and grow maintenance contract opportunities.
  • Offer expert phone support to customers while in their office or traveling as required.
  • Maintain a high level of motivation and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Promote contractual service agreements and upgrade purchases of new equipment to meet customer needs.
  • Determine accurate billing amounts within a framework of charges.
  • Submit prompt and accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
  • Perform extensive travel within New South Wales and interstate as required for this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A trade certificate or 5+ years' experience in instrumentation or process control systems is mandatory.
  • A restricted electrical or full electrical license is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in PM, diagnostics, and repair on core products is essential.
  • The ability to perform PM, diagnostics, and repair on other products to fulfill customer requirements within the territory is also crucial.
  • Experience in a commercial service role with metrics and monitored KPI performance is preferred.
  • Candidates must have the right to live and work in Australia.
Work Environment
  • The work environment will involve both office and field service activities.
  • Field service may require moderate physical activity, such as lifting/carrying materials.
