Job Overview

Nine's Data, Product & Technology - Enterprise team drives commercial growth and deeper engagement with data-driven solutions. As the Data Governance & Privacy Manager, you will be a vital contributor to our responsible data and AI strategy.

Implement Governance: You'll be hands-on in implementing and maintaining Nine's AI and Data Governance frameworks. Champion Data Integrity: You will support the management of our key data assets, ensuring their quality and integrity are fit for purpose. Drive Privacy Compliance: You will conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, ensuring we meet our obligations under the Privacy Act and the APPs. Manage Risk: You'll help identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and the responsible use of AI. Collaborate and Educate: You will partner with teams across the business to embed a 'Privacy-by-Design' culture and contribute to training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain critical frameworks for responsible innovation while upholding high ethical standards and robust privacy protections.
  • Manage key data assets to ensure quality and integrity are fit for purpose.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects to ensure compliance with the Privacy Act and APPs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and responsible AI use.
  • Collaborate with teams to embed a Privacy-by-Design culture and contribute to training programs.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years professional experience in data privacy, data governance, or technology risk.
  • Practical understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
  • Hands-on experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
  • Understanding of data management principles, including data quality and lifecycle management.
  • Solid grasp of AI concepts, including machine learning and generative AI, and their associated privacy challenges.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience working within the media, entertainment, advertising, or technology industries.
  • Familiarity with data governance roles and cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI governance, safety, or ethics frameworks.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/E, AIGP.
