Job Title: Data Governance & Privacy Manager

Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Governance and Privacy Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our AI and data governance frameworks, ensuring the quality and integrity of our key data assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Governance: Implement and maintain our AI and data governance frameworks to ensure alignment with industry standards.
  • Champion Data Integrity: Support the management of our key data assets, ensuring their quality and integrity are fit for purpose.
  • Drive Privacy Compliance: Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, ensuring we meet our obligations under the Privacy Act and the APPs.
  • Manage Risk: Identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and the responsible use of AI.
  • Collaborate and Educate: Partner with teams across the business to embed a 'Privacy-by-Design' culture and contribute to training programs.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in data privacy, data governance, or technology risk.
  • A strong, practical understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
  • Hands-on experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
  • An understanding of data management principles, including data quality and lifecycle management.
  • A solid grasp of AI concepts (like machine learning and generative AI) and their associated privacy challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to translate complex ideas into practical advice.
