Job Title: Senior Director of Data Strategy and Analytics

About the Role

The NSW Health Department is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Director to lead the development and implementation of data-driven strategies and analytics solutions. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in driving business intelligence and analytics capabilities within complex organizations.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for data-driven decision-making and process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy contemporary reporting and analysis systems.
  • Mentor and coach analysts, developers, and statisticians to enhance their skills and expertise.
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and develop actionable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in data strategy, business intelligence, and analytics, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
