The Role

As a Fleet Allocator, you will play a crucial part in the allocation and assignment of jobs to our team of drivers. Your primary objective will be to create efficiencies and optimize operations to ensure the effective movement of cargo to and from wharf and customer premises.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan the shift transport function to ensure delivery and receipt of cargo in accordance with allocated timeslots and customer/client requirements.
  2. Allocate jobs to drivers throughout the shift to achieve operational requirements.
  3. Provide drivers with required delivery paperwork.
  4. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and seek advice from the Transport Manager/Supervisor to resolve transport problems as they arise.
  5. Efficiently utilize and manage the data management system.
  6. Create and provide accurate client booking and release details as requested.
  7. Respond to issues raised by major clients with courtesy at all times.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to bring the following:

  1. Prior experience in a Fleet Allocator, Scheduling, or Rostering position.
  2. Excellent planning and problem-solving skills.
  3. Effective time management skills to meet ongoing task requirements.
  4. Sound computer knowledge and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Reliability, teamwork, and a can-do attitude.
  7. Strong data entry and accuracy.
  8. Attention to detail, time management, and organization skills.
  9. Fitness and general health to perform the role.
