Procurement and Contract Specialist Role

Job Description: The Procurement and Contract Specialist will play a key role in partnering with stakeholders to develop, source, and advise on procurement and contract arrangements. This involves planning, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies, processes, procedures, and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support and advice in the development of innovative procurement and contractual plans and strategies within nominated Divisions.
  • Partner with Divisional stakeholders to undertake business needs assessment, market analysis, and commercial risk assessments.
  • Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies for nominated Branches that address current and future challenges.
  • Support the formulation of commercial risk profiles and the development and ongoing maintenance of probity management plans.
  • Advise on tender evaluation methodology and the tender process, including strategies for communicating with tenderers and contract negotiations.
  • Prepare supply contracts and coordinate the award and execution of contracts.
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance management plans for agreed suppliers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in procurement advisory, planning, governance, and reporting in a complex organisation, including an understanding of relevant policies, processes, and systems. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
