We are seeking a highly skilled Work Health Safety and Environmental (WHSE) Assurance Specialist to join our Maritime Sustainment Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting WHSE assurance activities, analyzing complex WHS issues, and providing subject matter expert support to stakeholders.

About the Role

As a WHSE Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for:

* Conducting WHSE assurance activities in Maritime Sustainment Division business units and Regional Maintenance Centres
* Analyzing complex WHS issues and identifying courses of action
* Providing subject matter expert support to stakeholders on WHS issues
* Collaborating with stakeholders to communicate complex WHS information
* Building productive working relationships with stakeholders to inform decision-making
* Assessing and evaluating WHS strategy, initiatives, and projects
* Developing and maintaining audit tools and action registers
* Developing and implementing strategies to mitigate risk and enhance workplace safety

About Our Team

Our Maritime Work Health Safety and Environment team is part of the Maritime Sustainment Division and works across a range of specialisations including work health and safety, assurance, and environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A keen professional interest in WHS
* Professional qualifications or accreditations in WHS
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and verbal communication skills
* Highly developed written communication skills
* Initiative, strong organisational skills, and the ability to respond to pressures and changing priorities
