About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Assurance Engineer to join our team at Ricardo. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the Systems Safety activity for major rail projects, developing strategies and plans to implement Safety Assurance activities, and providing guidance and support on Engineering Safety and Systems Assurance.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the Systems Safety activity for major rail projects, including client representation and supplier liaison.
- Develop strategies and plans to implement Safety Assurance activities across all or some project life cycle stages.
- Develop associated safety cases and SFAIRP arguments.
- Provide guidance and support on Engineering Safety and Systems Assurance to engineering staff and client/supplier representatives.
- Represent Safety Assurance concepts and arguments to stakeholders, including regulatory, operations, and asset management bodies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry groups.
- Prepare assurance arguments and documentation to support configuration change submissions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Contribute to the development of tender responses in conjunction with other team members.
- Adhere to applicable workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, environmental, security, and asset management.
- Experience developing and implementing safety, environmental, security, and asset management policies and procedures.
