Job Overview

Challenger is seeking a strategic People and Culture Leader to join our Senior Leadership Team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective people practices that drive business success.

This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in recruitment, talent management, and organizational development. You will lead a small team of HR professionals, overseeing all aspects of our People & Culture functions, covering a national workforce of 1100 employees.

You will implement intelligent systems that drive real business outcomes, not bureaucratic policies. Your expertise in modern awards and industrial instruments across various industries will enable us to continuously improve our recruitment and retention outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general ER and IR advice
  • Deal with employee queries
  • Manage workforce planning and forecasts
  • Develop and implement succession planning strategies
  • Maintain and update employee files and records
  • Develop and implement People and Culture strategies
  • Update and maintain policies and procedures
  • Oversee WHS matters
  • Implement performance management strategies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience as a People and Culture Leader
  • Demonstrated hiring success
  • Tertiary degree in HR or any field (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships
  • Ability to navigate modern awards and industrial instruments
  • Solid understanding of commercial imperatives
  • High agility and ability to adapt quickly
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
