Electrical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in a pivotal role driving the accurate, timely costing of complex electrical infrastructure projects.

  • Master the tender process by reviewing RFQs, dissecting scope, terms, and technical/commercial commitments.
  • Develop first-principle models from client/engineering data, including direct/indirect costs, risk, and contingency.
  • Lead the bid writing process, overseeing plans, assigning resources, managing deadlines, and ensuring compelling, compliant submissions.
  • Crunch numbers by collating material take-offs, labor costs, and benchmarks into crystal-clear spreadsheets/databases.
  • Power collaboration by working hand-in-glove with Planning, Procurement, Engineering, and Project Development teams to align estimates, schedules, and methodologies.
  • Mitigate risk through thorough assessments and refine costings through senior management reviews.
  • Own relationships by engaging suppliers, subcontractors, and industry bodies to source competitive quotes and innovative solutions.
About You
  • Proven experience in estimating Australian electrical transmission, substation, battery energy storage, or power projects.
  • Technical mastery of HV infrastructure, legislative requirements, and key standards.
  • Tender expertise, including proposal writing, resource coordination, and risk assessment.
  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret complex documents, develop accurate pricing models, and justify decisions with data.
  • Collaborative drive, with stellar communication skills to lead bid teams and engage stakeholders (internal/external).
  • Systems savvy, with proficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and databases.
