As a key member of our fabrication team, you will have the opportunity to lead and oversee all workshop activities ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety on time.

About the role

The Workshop Manager will lead and direct the operations of the workshop, planning, organizing, and controlling resources to meet project requirements. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining efficient production systems, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products on time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, organizing, and supervising workshop operations to meet quality and production targets
  • Overseeing fabrication schedules, reviewing drawings, and setting clear production objectives
  • Maintaining a strong focus on safety, driving a proactive safety culture across the workshop
  • Managing resource allocation, including overtime and labor utilization, to optimize delivery and control costs
  • Working closely with estimators, drafters, project managers, and procurement to align on project priorities
  • Implementing and upholding quality management processes ensuring all work meets required standards
  • Supporting recruitment, training, and development of workshop staff encouraging skills growth and versatility

Key Skills and Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Trade/Engineering qualifications (Fitter, Boilermaker or similar) with extensive workshop and fabrication experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Proven leadership in workshop or fabrication environments, with a strong focus on safety and quality
  • Confidence interpreting technical drawings and managing production schedules
  • Skills in engaging and motivating teams fostering a positive and accountable culture
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
