This is an exciting opportunity to lead a South Australian-owned workshop operation that is thriving and delivering critical infrastructure across Australia.
Our client has a reputation for quality and a strong "pipeline" of projects, they are experiencing rapid growth and scaling their operations to meet increasing demand across the fire protection and construction sectors.
Key responsibilities include coordinating daily workflow in the workshop, prioritizing jobs to meet project deadlines, managing procurement and stock control of pipe, fittings, and consumables, supervising a team of fabricators, welders, storemen, and apprentices, delivering staff training and mentoring, driving a culture of quality and safety, reviewing job specifications, estimating time and materials, and supporting quote preparation, overseeing workshop equipment maintenance, compliance, and servicing schedules, ensuring all fabricated products meet Australian Standards and internal quality benchmarks, leading toolbox meetings, and delivering HSEQ protocols in line with legislation.
To be successful in this role, you will have prior experience in fabrication or mechanical piping, with strong organizational and communication skills. A white card and forklift license are preferred, as is confidence using Microsoft Office, scheduling, and costing technology systems.
