Job Description

This role involves applying your technical expertise and commercial acumen in advising and creating strategies to protect and enforce patent rights for blue-chip clients.

  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the engineering and ICT fields.
  • Advising clients on patent portfolio management, infringement, and patentability issues.
  • Assisting in patent oppositions and litigation.

You will be working with an A+ team of industry-leading mentors and colleagues, in a culture that celebrates diversity and provides ongoing learning opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 24 months' post-qualification experience as a registered Australian/NZ patent attorney or overseas qualified patent attorney nearing qualification in Australia/NZ.
  • A degree or higher qualifications in mechanical engineering or similar.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills/knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience in prosecuting/drafting patents (desirable).
  • Outstanding communication, time management, and people interaction skills.
