Job Title: Water Quality Specialist

The Government Sector is currently seeking a skilled Water Quality Specialist to work on a 3-month contract in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have experience in water quality analysis and be able to operate various equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze samples from different environments, using a range of equipment to meet customer expectations.
  • Operate field or laboratory instruments and equipment as trained.
  • Identify problems and solve them appropriately.
  • Verify data entry for accuracy and report any unusual results or issues immediately.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with operating field instruments and equipment such as thermometers, multiprobes, amperometric titrators, colorimeter, turbidity meters, autosamplers, depth samplers, ground water sampler, sediment grabs, and soil augers.
  • A valid driver's license and suitable experience to drive vehicles safely in various environments.
  • Ability to work efficiently with high accuracy and attention to detail while managing competing demands.
  • Proficiency in using computers and tablets, including Microsoft Windows, Lab information management System (LIMS), and Office, as well as various mobile devices.
  • Senior First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (Degree and/or Certificate in Science) or demonstrated experience working in a field or laboratory environment under quality accredited conditions.
