Valuations Associate

This role involves supporting valuation risk management processes across a private market portfolio.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with valuation oversight by undertaking research and analysis to verify that investment carrying values are appropriate.
  • Engaging proactively with key stakeholders including Asset Class Investment teams, external managers, and third-party valuers to understand, discuss, and critically assess valuation assumptions and inputs.
  • Undertaking regular valuation trigger monitoring of assigned investments, considering comparable trading companies, transactions, and investor reports to understand asset performance.
  • Supporting the coordination of the valuation timetable, ensuring timely and efficient conduct of in-house and external valuations.
  • Preparing detailed valuation papers for monthly Valuation Committee meetings chaired by the CFO.
  • Supporting due diligence of assigned investments from a valuations perspective, reviewing valuation policies and frameworks of external investment managers.
  • Contributing to quarterly regulatory reporting to APRA on valuation metrics, building templates and coordinating with external investment managers.
