Apprenticeship Support Specialist for WA Businesses

Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) is a business unit of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, aiming to lift apprenticeship commencement and completion rates. As a Mentor Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in providing vital mentoring and support services to ASA clients, with a focus on First Nations apprentices and their employers.
This full-time, permanent opportunity is located in Osborne Park, offering salary packaging benefits. Your primary objective will be to facilitate apprenticeship completions by addressing industry, workplace, and personal issues, ensuring early identification and mitigation of challenges that may arise during the training process.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct risk assessments with clients to identify potential barriers to completion.
- Deliver in-person, phone, and online mentoring support to clients, offering ongoing assistance throughout their training contract.
- Develop and maintain Tailored Support Plans (TSP's) to address client needs.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of databases and TSP's, adhering to compliance requirements.
- Host networking events to promote the value of apprenticeships and traineeships among First Nations apprentices.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in job search and employment services for job seekers.
- You must have knowledge and awareness of issues and potential barriers to completion of Apprenticeships.
- A minimum of 12 months relevant experience working with young people or proven relevant experience is required.
- You should be able to provide Apprentices with sound guidance, drawing from life experience, workplace knowledge, values, and academic achievement.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.
- You should be able to promote Australian Apprenticeships to prospective clients and represent ASA at events.
- Familiarity with apprenticeships and traineeships is necessary.
- You must be able to work to and deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- A National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check are mandatory.
