Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Officer to join our team at the City of Rockingham. This permanent role is based in Perth and offers a competitive salary package.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, review and monitoring of budgets, team plans and long-term financial plans. They will also ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory and financial requirements.

This role requires strong knowledge of contemporary accounting principles and practices, as well as experience in a financial administration position with a commercial or local government authority. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across various directorates, teams and personalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, review and monitoring of budgets, team plans and long-term financial plans
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory and financial requirements
  • Provide finance-related advice and effectively communicate accounting concepts to non-finance staff
  • Prioritize and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Requirements
  • A high level of interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Experience in a financial administration position with exposure to budget preparation, budget management, accounts payable/receivable project costing and month-end processes
  • Able to provide finance-related advice and effectively communicate accounting concepts to non-finance staff
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • A high level of numeracy and computer literacy with developed Microsoft Excel skills
What We Offer
  • Gross salary of $80,559 per annum
  • 11.5% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
