We are currently seeking a highly skilled Heavy Diesel Field Technician to join our Power Generation Team in Laverton. If you have a passion for heavy industrial equipment and are looking to advance your career, this is an excellent opportunity.

In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for breakdown repairs, new equipment commissioning, and scheduled service works on Power Generation products.

  • Be the first responder for breakdowns, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance on engines up to 78 Litre Diesel and Gas engines.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call roster, providing emergency support when needed.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Relevant trades qualification; Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
  • Previous field service experience, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with clients, fostering strong relationships and trust.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in software applications relevant to the role.
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
  • A current, valid driver's license, enabling you to travel safely and efficiently.
  • Experience with Power Generation products is highly regarded but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.

Qualifications include experience in Engines, Complex Fuel transfer systems, Oil Make-up systems, and other balance of plant systems such as remote cooling systems diagnostics and repairs. Experience in commissioning new equipment, including generator installation, fuel systems, exhaust, and cooling systems, is also desirable.

This is a full-time position within the Manufacturing industry, categorized under Engineering and Information Technology, with a hybrid role at Cummins Inc. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.
