Capsules Operator

The Capsules Operator is a critical role in the production process, responsible for ensuring the highest quality products are delivered to our consumers. As a key member of the operations team, this individual will be responsible for general line operations, autonomous maintenance activities, quality inspections, and championing safety in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:- Operational Activities: The Capsules Operator will be responsible for performing start-up and shutdown procedures, ensuring the area and equipment are clean and safe. They will also be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating equipment to maintain and return it to its original standard.
- Material Availability: The operator will be responsible for picking and returning packaging and raw materials from warehouse locations to demarcated staging areas, adhering to 5S standards on the packing line.
- Quality: The Capsules Operator will perform required quality checks and monitor product quality against set standards, reporting any product and packaging defects. They will also detect process abnormalities quickly and take immediate action to prevent them.
- Administration: The operator will conduct effective hand-over activities and accurately record events that have occurred during shift, including cases packed and rejects. They will also correctly allocate downtime in OFS and actively participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 meetings.
- Safety: The Capsules Operator must have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all safe practices and systems relevant to the North Rocks site and the legal responsibility placed on team members. They must actively participate and contribute to safety discussions to create a safe working environment.
- Workplace Hazards: The operator must have knowledge of potential hazards and risks in the work environment and job activities. They must utilize appropriate safety and environment procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment relevant to the task to mitigate hazards.
- Environment: The Capsules Operator must work to reduce and eliminate waste through the correct handling of waste and hazardous materials. They must understand the importance of minimizing the impact of operations on health, safety, and environment.
- Continuous Improvement: The operator must be aware of how to use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in production area. They must provide descriptions of problems and monitor process of line issues, engaging in root cause analysis tools and WCM practices.
- Teamwork: The Capsules Operator must be a good team member, capable of working with a highly effective team, responsible, supportive, and reliable.
- Communication: The operator must be able to effectively communicate issues relating to safety and provide operational observations and inputs to support decision makers by team leaders.
- Physical Ability: The Capsules Operator must have a level of agility to move quickly between workstations, ascend and descend steps often carrying loads. Assembly and control operations also require a level of hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Monitoring and Quality assurance tasks require an adequate level of sight and smell.
