Job Description:

The main purpose of this role is to engage with Aboriginal families and children from birth to four years old, including older children within the family, to deliver support and activities that promote family safety and address the impacts on children of family violence.

Key objectives include providing culturally specific advice relating to family engagement and the development of support strategies that improve the safety of Aboriginal families (including pregnant women) in a Child and Family Learning Centre environment.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other professionals to achieve these goals and make a positive impact on the lives of Aboriginal children and their families.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity
  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures and community needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
