We are seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our team as an Aboriginal Family Safety Worker. This role will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and well-being of Aboriginal families and children in our community.
About the RoleThis is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families. As an Aboriginal Family Safety Worker, you will be responsible for delivering support and activities that promote family safety and address the impacts of family violence on children.
You will work closely with Aboriginal families and children from birth to four years old (including older children within the family) to engage them in Child and Family Learning Centres (CFLCs). Your goal will be to provide culturally specific advice and develop support strategies that improve the safety of Aboriginal families in the CFLC environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal families and children, as well as the ability to work effectively with communities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver support and activities that promote family safety and address the impacts of family violence on children
- Work closely with Aboriginal families and children to engage them in CFLCs
- Provide culturally specific advice and develop support strategies to improve family safety
- Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identification
- A Current Drivers Licence
