Trauma Clinical Nurse Consultant Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced trauma nurse to fill this exciting position in our team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading quality improvement activities and embedding standardisation of education and training activities in trauma care across emergency departments and inpatient facilities.

  • Provide clinical expertise and advice for trauma patients across the district
  • Monitor trauma transfers between hospitals via the trauma hotline and provide timely feedback to the referring hospitals where required
  • Plan, develop, and implement education programs for the care of trauma patients in hospital facilities
  • Initiate research and utilise findings to ensure evidence-based care for the management of injured patients

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • At least 7 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience and at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience in a relevant field of practice
  • Approved postgraduate nursing qualifications in a field relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications deemed appropriate by the organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery by enhancing models of care to achieve better patient outcomes and staff experience
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, and successfully implement evidence-based projects, quality activities, and research relationships with stakeholders
