Australia Wide Engineering Recruitment is proud to partner with a highly regarded company in the utilities space, specializing in condition-based monitoring products and services. This innovative company is undergoing significant growth and is seeking an experienced embedded firmware and hardware engineer to join their team.
The Role:
As the embedded firmware and hardware engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting a range of IoT devices. Your initial challenges will be to increase stability and battery life of one of the existing products. You will be based in a state-of-the-art facility with a full electronics workshop and production assembly area, as well as access to in-house 3D printing facilities for prototyping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded firmware and hardware for IoT devices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of devices
- Troubleshoot and debug issues with existing products
- Develop and implement solutions to improve device stability and battery life
- Work closely with the production team to ensure efficient assembly and testing of devices
Requirements:
- Relevant degree and minimum 3-5 years' experience in embedded systems
- Digital and analog design, including PCB layout
- Embedded programming experience
- Experience with battery-powered devices, energy harvesting, and ultra-low power designs
- Experience with STM32 M4 series microcontroller
- Experience with IoT technologies such as LWM2M
- Debugging using JTAG
- Familiarity with standard communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, GPIO, and UART
- Experience with modems, NB-IOT/CAT-M1, LoRaWAN, and Bluetooth
- Experience with high-speed capture and processing of AC power signals
- Experience designing end-of-line test systems
