Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Professional to join our team. As an Environmental Specialist, you will play a vital role in coordinating amendments to Environmental Authorities and maintaining the environmental risk register.

  • Coordinate amendments to Environmental Authorities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain the environmental risk register and compliance system, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Formulate action plans to address environmental risks and issues raised from audit findings, ensuring continuous improvement of our Environmental Management System.
  • Maintain and enhance corporate environmental knowledge through environmental documentation management and data management systems.
  • Coordinate cultural heritage activities with sites and Traditional Owners, promoting cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Complete internal and external environmental governance and performance reporting, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization through meetings with professional organizations, promoting our commitment to environmental sustainability.
  • Support and seek opportunities for continual improvement of company-certified Environmental Management Systems (EMS), staying up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and support to sites to address key environmental matters, ensuring effective implementation of environmental policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Degree-level qualifications in a relevant field of science, environmental science, or environmental engineering.
  • A driver's license, enabling you to travel to various sites as required.
  • Relevant experience in managing environmental issues in the electricity generation or mining sectors or similar industrial experience (desired).
  • Proven hands-on environmental management skills, with a strong track record of achieving results.
  • Experience in working with a range of environmental functional specialists, including scientists, engineers, and technicians.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional professionals and in multi-disciplinary teams, promoting collaboration and effective communication.
