Electrical Technician Job Description

This position is focused on the maintenance and inspection of electrical switchboards.

The technician will be responsible for removing all panels, inspecting the busbar, cleaning and ductor. They will also test all joints, service and test Vacuum and Air Circuit Breakers, switchgear compartments, mechanical and electrical interlocks, protection relay elements, earth switches, IR and ductor testing, MNS modules, transformers, and alarms.

Additionally, this role requires a strong understanding of industry-specific regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular inspections of electrical switchboards
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks
  • Test and repair electrical equipment
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards
Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years' experience in the Oil & Gas industry

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and principles

- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

- Valid BOSIET certificate with wet CAEBS training

- CPR / LVR certification
