Senior Chef required to oversee the operations of a central kitchen.
Job Description:The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising the operations of the Central Kitchen. This includes developing cyclical and standard menu items, specifying raw ingredients, ordering products and managing inventory levels.
- Maintain an accurate monthly stock taking process and monitor wholesale purchasing costs.
- Develop and implement efficient systems and processes to ensure the highest level of food safety standards are met.
This is a challenging role that requires a high degree of organizational skill and attention to detail. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude under pressure is essential.
Working in collaboration with other departments, this position provides support to Retail Outlets by coordinating and supervising the operations of the Central Kitchen. As part of this role, you will also contribute to the development of menus and recipes that cater to diverse client needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Relevant Degree or Diploma with little or no relevant work experience; or a suitable combination of lesser qualifications and relevant experience.
- Have a current or willing to obtain a Food Handlers & Food Safety Supervisor's Certificate.
- Extensive experience in the preparation of a broad spectrum of menu items, current knowledge of food trends, food allergy controls and exceptional planning and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in stock control and food cost monitoring & recipe costings.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in menu planning & menu design.
- Computer literacy and an understanding of CHECK EAM stock control and purchasing system is preferable.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality client service & customer service in a catering environment.
- Proven experience supervising and leading a team.
