Job Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Monitoring Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting routine and ad-hoc environmental monitoring and analysis, providing scientific support during environmental incidents, and ensuring accurate data entry and management in the Laboratory Information Management System.

About You:
  • You must have a tertiary qualification in Science or a related field.
  • A Class C Licence and ability to work in varied conditions is also required.
  • Vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B are necessary.
  • Familiarity with NATA accreditation requirements and laboratory procedures is essential.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills are also required.
  • You should be able to work autonomously or as part of a team to deliver quality results.
  • Proven knowledge in water, wastewater, and environmental sample analysis is highly desirable.
  • Experience with microbiological/chemical analysis and quality assurance procedures is also beneficial.
  • You should be skilled in the use of laboratory data systems and field analytical equipment.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in aquatic ecology, including surveys of fish and macroinvertebrates, would be an asset.
  • A Boat Licence for fieldwork would also be advantageous.
