Environmental Specialist Role

The Environmental Specialist role involves various environmental aspects including water quality, air pollution control, noise management, vibration reduction, rehabilitation, biodiversity conservation, and circular economy. You will acquire knowledge in these areas and contribute to achieving legislative compliance, high safety standards, and a 2040 zero waste goal.

  • Audit and report on environmental inspections, incidents, and hazards.
  • Operate and maintain environmental equipment for sampling and data entry into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Analyse sample data, audits, field instrument data, and laboratory reports using environmental models to identify trends, assess implications, prioritize projects, and manage key site environmental issues.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor environmental projects, works, and improvement plans by collaborating with operational teams.
  • Provide advice, training, support, and mentorship to operational teams on legislation, acts, and regulations.
  • Manage environmental services contractors and consultants.
Program Overview

The Environmental Specialist Program is a structured four-year program combining full-time work experience with part-time study through Central Queensland University. Your studies will be fully funded, and you'll receive expert guidance and mentorship to ensure your successful completion of the program.
