Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Injury Management Advisor to join our team. As an Injury Management Advisor, you will provide strategic advice to case managers on establishing appropriate medical strategies, developing robust treatment plans, and developing sound return to work plans.
Responsibilities:
- Influence health and occupational rehabilitation providers in relation to the appropriateness of treatment and adherence to scheme principles.
- Drive rehabilitation providers to achieve the required outcomes.
- Review and determine appropriate treatment in line with clinical frameworks.
- Provide needs-based services to people with work-related injuries to achieve the best possible outcome and durable independence for that individual.
- Ensure tasks and activities are followed through as set out in case conferencing.
- Assist in the development of strategies.
- Meet with workers and treaters in coordinating and managing workers' claims.
Requirements:
- Sound medical knowledge.
- At least two years' experience in workplace-based rehabilitation, with a preference for a degree in a medical or health-related field.
- Extensive knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology and procedures, including the forms of treatment applicable to injury.
- Teamwork with coaching and mentoring experience.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to interpret and implement decisions according to the rules and regulations.
- Intermediate computer skills.
