Automation Systems Engineer

This role involves designing, building and optimising packaging systems for leading food and beverage manufacturers.

About the Role

You will play a key part in creating functional, efficient and intelligent machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation engineering and programming.

  • Design and develop automation systems for manufacturing equipment
  • Solve complex problems using technical expertise and problem-solving skills
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Evaluate and improve automation processes to meet industry standards
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and provide training and support as needed
  • Participate in an out-of-hours support roster to ensure seamless operation
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience delivering automation projects in packaging or manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in PLC/HMI development and programming, specifically Rockwell and ABB
  • A solid understanding of control systems, software, electrical schematics and safety integration
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A commitment to quality and compliance
  • Familiarity with industry standards, including ISO and WHS requirements
