Key Automation Position

HMPS Propac is a leading manufacturer of innovative end-of-line packaging automation solutions. As an expert in creating highly functional, efficient, and intelligent machinery, you will play a key role in our operations across Australia and the world.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and strong communication abilities to ensure seamless collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, implement, and test automation systems for HMPS Propac machinery.
  • Use your technical knowledge to troubleshoot automation issues and solve complex challenges.
  • Work closely with design and project engineers, fitters, service technicians, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of systems.
  • Maintain clear, accurate technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and support internal teams with training, support, and mentoring when required.
  • Participate in our automation support roster, providing remote assistance to customers as needed.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering and 5+ years' relevant industry experience.
  • Experience delivering automation projects in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven skills in PLC/HMI development and programming.
  • Programming for Rockwell and ABB is essential.
  • Strong understanding of control systems, software, electrical schematics, and safety integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of quality, compliance, and documentation.
  • Experience with customer commissioning and field support is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards, including ISO and WHS requirements.
