Payroll Coordinator

The Role:
The Payroll Assistant will report to the PAO and be accountable for the payment of fortnightly paid staff, ensuring employees receive their entitlements. Key responsibilities include:
- Controlling all facets of the fortnightly payroll process and distributing payroll reports and payments in a timely manner.
- Liaising with managers, timekeeping and payroll software suppliers, and government agencies.
- Receiving, checking, and processing EmpLive computer data files and manual timesheets.
- Paying expenses and deducting amounts as required (e.g., union dues, superannuation).
- Updating the HR3 payroll program and distributing pays to staff.
- Maintaining employee records, award interpretations, rates, and public holidays.
- Being the point of contact and training staff when necessary.
- Ensuring personnel records are complete, including salary, personnel files, Sick Leave, Recreation Leave, Rostered Day Off, and other leave records.
- Assisting with Workers Compensation claims and Occupational Health and Safety.
- Liaising with Workers Compensation Insurers and Agents regarding file management and payment.
- Liaising with the PAO and General Counsel regarding Workers Compensation claims and OHS matters.
The Person:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Assistant with:
- Experience in a similar role or as a Payroll Assistant.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- High level of communication skills, both written and verbal.
