Fusion5 is looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Leader to ensure the performance, availability, and operational resilience of a modern cloud-based HR and Payroll solution.
This role combines DevOps engineering, SQL database administration, and technical leadership. You'll serve as a senior escalation point, drive platform automation, manage critical incidents and releases, and collaborate with a high-performing team across Australia and New Zealand.
About This Role- Oversight of the technical operations of the Jemini platform across Azure, SQL Server (SQL MI preferred), and supporting infrastructure.
- Uptime management, performance monitoring, and capacity planning expertise.
- Robust CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance, infrastructure as code, and containerised deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Critical incident escalation and after-hours resolution and release activities.
- SQL database administration, security management, encryption, compliance best practices, and high availability configurations.
- Tech lead in mentoring staff, supporting DevOps maturity, and ensuring operational excellence across the stack.
- 10+ years in senior IT roles with a focus on operations and platform engineering.
- Proven expertise across Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, enterprise networking, and cloud security.
- Automation scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Bash).
- Success in CI/CD pipeline engineering and infrastructure as code (Terraform or ARM).
- Experience in 24x7 SaaS support environments and ISO/IEC 27001-compliant operations.
- Strong communication and incident leadership skills with a customer-centric mindset.
Desirable qualifications: experience in HR/Payroll SaaS platforms, familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Prometheus, Grafana, and SQL Profiler, Azure SQL Managed Instance, ITIL knowledge, and Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator or Database Admin Associate). SSIS/SSRS and data integration experience are beneficial.
